Golf on this coast is played between desert and sea, and that changes both how the game looks and how it feels to walk it.
Green against everything else
The contrast is the point. Fairway green reads differently when the ground on either side of it is pale and the horizon behind it is the Red Sea. It is a landscape with very little in it, so the few things that are there — the grass, the water, the light — carry the whole picture.
An early round, and the rest of the day
Coastal golf is a morning game: out while the air is still cool, back before the day gets serious, with the afternoon left entirely to you. That is the argument for playing here rather than somewhere the round has to be the whole day.
